I am prior service Army that is on the Inactive Reserve List until 2005. I am going to enlist in the Navy for the SEAL Challenge Contract under the Delayed Enlistment Program. I was going to enlist this month and look at trying to leave for around August or September. I was told that since I am on Inactive Reserve that the Navy can pull me earlier if they want to. I am married so I want to know when I am leaving so that my wife and everything is taken care of. If I leave in August or September I will be prepared for the SEAL PFT, but if I leave early I don't know if I will be as prepared. So should I enlist and take my chances of not being called up or should I enlist closer to the date of when I want to enlist? Also if I decide to enlist later what should I tell the recruiter, because he did work really hard with me since I was prior service? Any opinions are welcome from all.
