I want to know if I can join the Airfore when Im older and then switch to S.E.A.L.s. Is that possible? Or do you have to stay in only one military branch at one time?
Thank you,
Morgan Crandall

For you and me, Morgan, that's not a possibility or an option, but I do believe reading somewhere, and if someone with more knowledge can please back me or correct me on this, that yes guys from other military branches can try to switch over to the SEALs.

Yes, after your years with the Air Force you can switch to the Navy but you cant go straight to SEALs you have to go through the Navy's bootcamp then then go to an A school and learn a rate which will support you for the SEALs then BUD/S and if you accomplish it all you can call yourself a SEAL.

You have to be in the Navy if you want to be a SEAL. You can be in the Air Force, do your tour, get out join the navy and then become a SEAL. Go to this site for more info www.sealchallenge.navy.mil.

First off, if you want to be a SEAL why the waste time in the Air Force? If you're trying to prepare yourself physically or whatever, at least go Marines!
Second, I thought that it was possible to transfer inter-service as opposed to re-enlisting in a separate branch? Of course, this may be one of those things that exist officially but never occur. For example, supposedly any Naval Officer with a warfare pin can be accepted to BUD/s but from what I hear only SWOs are able to do lateral transfers. Can someone knowledgeable please comment (on both the inter-service and the lateral transfers)?
