Hey ya'll please once again forgive me for my ignorance but I got another question. I love swimming and have been going to the beach and side stroking away. I started using fins the other day and was wondering what type of a kick your suppose to use. I had been using the whip kick without the fins but I heard that you were suppose to use a flutter kick with fins. Is that true? Thanks for your help.

You need to maintain a constant flutter kick when using fins. It builds up your leg strength and edurance, and not using it would probably result in failing swims at BUD/S. For most people who are not serious swimmers, keeping up a constant kick for several hours may seem difficult, but if you start out doing laps in the pool and short open water swims, it will become much easier. One of the biggest keys to surviving timed events in BUD/S is preparation. The better you take care of your boday, the better it will take care of you. Though there is a high chance of injury, sometimes you just have to take risks.
