i was talking to a former SEAL and he said the 2 toughest things were the cold ( which he said its like getting kicked in the balls...its something you cant prepare for) and then the no sleep thing.....he said if could stay awake for 7 days with only like an hour of sleep a day doing athletic activity the whole time that....i could pretty much make it through....thats taking into account passing all the other requirements??

the question was that if i could stay up for 7 days with an hour a sleep a night would that be equal toughness to what ya'll experience during hell week when ya'll get 3-4 hours a sleep during those five days....
and during the night time in hell week what did they make ya'll do for the 8 hours of darkness to keep ya'll awake???

You know what I think... I think you think way too much! Don't sweat it. Worry about one thing at a time if you think like this then you will have a hell of a time later on when you are wondering, "how in the hell you will make it one mor day"? So do as I do and try not to think. lol... Just Kidding. I was told by a Captain in the SEALs that the most important thing is to take it one step at a time and focus all your energy at the task at hand. So for now worry about what you got going on, come to terms wtih yourself, and get ready. Good luck

I'm not a SEAL, I'm training like everyone else, but don't try and simulate BUD/S. It can't happen. BUD/S is something that you just have to experience. I for one just plan on taking it one evolution at a time. Hell Week is a kick in the nuts, and no matter how many times someone kicks me in the nuts, I do not believe that it will get any better. Just relax, train hard, and take it from there! Just my 2 cents. Good Luck eveyone!

To make it more realistic, on about the third night, hold a 32-36 inch television up over your head outside in the cold, and look in your friends window while he/she sleeps. Be sure to notice how warm and comfortable they look... Then ask yourself what the hell you're doing there.

:) i like the Tv set idea, make you feel nice and warm looking in at all your friends.... but this i just my opinion, i am pretty sure that it is kinda dangerouse to stay up for 7 days strait, your body cant handle it, that is why hell week is only 5 days long and they almost have to give you some sleep on the 4 day cause after 96 hours your body can start to get a seriouse ammount of damage from lack of sleep!!
