uh well, most 13 year olds should be concentrating on getting good grades. I know that's not what you want to hear, but at 13 that's basically what your job is-to do well in school. If you can do that, then you can do anything. Other than that, stay in shape, stay away from drugs and alcohol and any other sort of trouble, be confident.

Hey now, same as the other guy ahead of me. Your job is to get good grades and to stay away from those who use substances. But my 10th grade math teacher and football coach was an Army Ranger in Desert Storm, I asked him the same question. He told me about the grades, but he also said to stay in sports, mainly team sports. Cause unlike the fiction of James Bond the SEALs are ELITE. I am not a SEAL but I know they are some of the greatest when it comes to teamwork. So the better you cooperate with others the better your chances he told me.
Hope I helped you a little bit.

Get good grades, read books, play sports. When you are done with puberty start to lift weights and put on muscle. Then do the Official Seal PT Program found on the official site.
start to lift weights and put on muscle
Not necessary for BUD/S. PT programs I recommend, weights I usually suggest to stay away from in preparing for BUD/S...

My main idea was that extremely skinny guys should put on some muscle. Then they can use the official PT program. I do not mean to lift weights to get huge, just to get some compact, strong muscle. When I put on 17 lbs of muscle, I became more hardy, and over twice as strong as I was.

It's a shame you down play and think good grades is bull **** . Amazing that you wish to achieve a goal and short change the first requirment in the steps to achievement of your goal. Truly a pity.

justinday2,
Grades are extremely important. You might not think so now, but believe me. I just finished college and although I did pretty well I could have tried harder my first couple of years and I would have had a much better GPA. Same with High School, if I had just given a 10% more effort I could have gone to a much better school. What I'm saying is that you might not think that grades are important now, but they lay the foundation for everything that you want to do in life. I am going into boot camp in Nov. with the SEAL Challenge Contract and I accredit most of that to my education, not my atheltic ability. Good luck with your future endeavours.

Babe, trust me you will have pride looking back on yourself for getting good grades, SEAL or no SEAL. Do it for yourself. Also don't forget to be a kid, don't lose yourself to quickly to adult-hood. Your only 13 and you have a lot of time to prep for BUD/S.
