HUGE difference! SWCC or Special Warfare Combatant Crewmember are the guys attached to the SBU (Special Boat Unit) Squadrons. Their job is to drive us (SEALs) into our drop off location. Do NOT confuse this with SDV Teams. SDV Teams are SEAL Teams. SBU Teams are special warfare but not SEALs. They have their own training, but it is not BUD/S and nothing like BUD/S. BUD/S trains you for a variety of environments and techniques - reconnaissance, land warfare, diving, explosives, etc. SWCC members just drive the boats and provide ship-shore gun fire and the like when and if it is needed. They are a large part of the integrated missions in Naval Special Warfare. They get us where we need to go and put their asses on the line to make sure we get in and out safely. We are all Naval Special Warfare - just different specific operations.......Hope this helps!

They get us where we need to go

Or as I simplified it to a nice young Air Force Captain when explaining my hubby's job: " SWCC: They drive small incredibly fast boats at incredibly high rates of speed at solid objects for no apparent reason." (Hey NAVJSOC liked it...)
