OK if you are going into Bud/s and you make it through the program then you should just go active because your gonna be going to so many other schools after that and when all thats done then have a 6 month probationary period on a team your assigned to so your looking at alot of active duty time any way so just go active from the get go also Im pretty sure there gonna ask for 6 years commitment of active after you finish any way

I was told that the process of getting me back in would be easier if I went Reserves first.

I have heard, through multiple sources, that there is a program for active reservists to go straight to BUD/S. Upon completion, you incur a 3 year active duty obligation. I would suggest you talk to a SEAL recruiter about this program. BTW, does anyone know what happened to www.sealchallenge.navy.mil?
