how many years, excluding BUDs does a frogman serve? At what age do most SEALS retire, and what do most of them do after their service is over?
SOME SERVE ONE 5 YEAR TOUR, OTHERS A FULL 20 YEARS OR MORE (MORE IN THE LATER CATEGORY). MOST RETIRE IN THEIR FORTIES. AFTER THE SEALS, SOME GO TO CIA, DEA, FBI, POLICE/SWAT, FIRE DEPARTMENTS, INTO BUSINESS AS CONSULTANTS, TO BUSINESS SCHOOL AND INTO BIG BUSINESS, INTO SECURITY CONSULTING, HOLLYWOOD - YOU NAME IT, SEALS HAVE DONE EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING AFTER THEY RETIRE. SEALS ARE TERRRIFIC GENERALISTS AND ARE GOOD AT WHATEVER THEY PUT THERE MINDS TOO - SO THEY HAVE SUCCEEDED AT ALL WALKD OF LIFE AFTER THE TEAMS (LOOK AT JESSIE VENTURA, SENATOR KERRY, RUDIE BOESCH, ADMIRAL "ACE" LYON (HEADED FAA UNTIL RECENTLY, **** MARCINKO ETC).

<font size=1>Excellent answer.
I hadn't thought about it but it has to be true.
The SEALs pick and choose they TYPE of brain, body and backbone and mold the man...for soldiering...and for life.
It would be an interesting book or essay to do a follow-up on the lives of all of the former SEALs....not just the big names.
It's probably already been done. It would be an interesting read.
