I am not sure as to who will be reading this.

I hope this message finds someone who can help me.

I recently learned about the Navy SEALs and was instantly hooked. I have been wander lust for too long, wondering what the hell I am going to do with myself.

My criminal record (juvenile) is hindering even my general enlistment capabilities, and completely shutting out any chance of a SEAL-contract.

Two weeks into my senior year in high school (sept. '00), I was expelled for having two 22. rifles in my truck. I left them in there on accident from a camping trip that I never unpacked from. From that expullsion, I believe I recieved at least one felony charge, maybe two. I was seventeen. This is on my juvenile record, which when I thought about it, wouldn't matter. But I soon found out otherwise. The two charges, unlawful possession on firearms and possession of firearms/weapons on school grounds, are the only thing holding me back. My lack of a high school diploma isn't helping, either. I do have my GED. But again to, no avail, that wouldn't hold a candle up to it. I am working on my diploma through Green River Community College. I have quite a ways to go. I was and am using this time to get mentally and physically fit for the SEAL challenge.

I am speeking with a recruiter. He is helping me out. I just want to try any and every way possible to gain that SEAL-contract. So if you are a SEAL and you know some loopholes or have any advice or know how to contact someone with the power to override the general rules of enlistment, please let me know. I would appreciate any help that is offered.

Thank you,
Evan Michael Jones

Jones i know for a fact you have to have a diploma. And im pretty sure you cant have ANY sort of record. Although theres probably a waiver out there for ya. But i would listen to your recruiter. Most are there to help ya but alot of times thay dont have all the newest facts so you may need to come to this board if there is something your not sure of. But if its not SEAL related post it in general.

I advice you to call a SEAL recruiter and speak with one of them. They would be able to let you know what you can do to get closer to the reality of what you want to do. Check the Navy's "official" site for Naval Special Warfare to find phone numbers, etc. Good luck...
