When doing your under water swim, when you fall in and do the flip turn, can you push off the wall to go further?
Chris
You can't push off the wall when you first fallin, iif you are taking the test in a 25M pool, you may push off the other side when you flip turn to come back. This test is usually taken in a 50M pool however.

No you can't if you hit the near side wall at all or you fail right away...your best bet is to jump farther out from the wall and then continue on

Is there a limit to how far you can jump at the start? Are you required to start from a standing position, or are you allowed a certain number of steps, etc.?
STANDING POSITION START.

To help you out even further then that.....the CTT( Combat Training Tank) is afifty meter pool however for the 50 meter underwater swim evolution they do not use the length but the with of the pool so you can push off the wall only at the halfway point....at least for class 237.....also, whenever a student gets within five to seven feet away from the wall at the end, the instructor will assist them dragging them out of the pool in the event of a shallow water blackout.
HAPPY TRAINING!
