It has been said to be the toughest military training in the world. It doesn't just break you physically but it tests you mentally. The mental aspect is what gets most people- the cold of the water is said to be the hardest thing for most of the BUD/S students. However everyone will have different things they face that they couldn't come prepared for. This is when the strong survive and the rest wash out. Physically you HAVE to be in the best shape possible, especially when it comes to running. Many people develop stress related injuries due to not running before arriving at BUD/S. If you are really interested, Stew Smith has a great workout program that will get you in shape and ready to take on the physical part of BUD/S, the mental is up to you.
