I wore a pair of Bates 924s on the excercise routine today. Due to the non-padded tongue, the quick lace metal grommets dug into the sides of my ankles, such that the skin was broken. Also, by the time I arrived at the pool, I found out that I had grown thick blisters merely from the 30 min. run. Swimming wasn't too bad, although the run home was very painful, as was the shower.

Is this normal with the Bates 924 boot? If not, it may be due to improper fitting. A size smaller might do the trick. Anyone want to buy a 11.5 wide?

The first time I ran in 924’s my right boot wasn’t tied tight enough and about half way through my run it started to chafe but I didn’t want to stop to tighten it. The other boot was tight enough and didn’t rub. If you think a smaller size might fix it try lacing them up tighter, see if that helps.

i agree with tuck, get thicker socks... if you cant just wear 2 pairs of regular socks if that still doesnt do the trick then wear another pair over, but keep in mind your always going to get blisters in boots the best ones i think are jungle boots i rarley get blisters in em when i run. Just remember to double/tripple knot em b4 you run. but if it becomes untied by all means stop and tie em! your not in BUD/S yet
