My doctor just told me that I am flat footed. They could use the soles of my feet as levels in construction...In order to correct the problem, I will have to wear specially made orthodic shoe inserts during physical activity.
How will this affect my entrance into the miltary? What about selection for a SOF? (SFAS, BUD/S, etc.)? How could this affect me as an operator? Will I have to get a waiver to even enlist?
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey i have kinda the same problem i get really bad "shin splints" doctors thought it was blood build up but thay finally determined that it was from being i guess flat footed. But i know some one whose SF and has been in for 10 years or so and when he originally went to boot he said he just stuffed his orthodics in his boot. But when you get them made you wanna tell them that you will eventually wanna put them in military boots cause there are diffrent types. His are hard plastic for instance. Im not sure if it makes too much of a diffrence wether there in shoes or boots but ask anyways. But personally im not gonna tell a single person so the only way there gonna find out is if thay research my feet. Humm guess ill have to ask my friend next time.

Well LA you just might like this piece of advice...ballett is great for helping to develop the arches of your feet . Even though boys aren't put on point shoes the regular point and flexing routines could certainly help...And damn if ballet doesn't help with core strength and coordination too. Plus you already have several outfits to go with the slippers and tights :) You would also be surrounded by nearly naked lovely ladies for the duration all of whom will fight for the chance to pas de a' deux with you...if you don't believe me ask Patrick Swayze.

Nearly naked lovely ladies...don't tease me siren!
Sure SEALs are tough, sure SFers are tough, sure Rangers are tough...but it takes a REAL man to be seen ballet dancing...
