Did a Friday Beatdown WOD at the Crossfit Nashville Gym. Here's what we did:
-Farmers Walk for 100yds (70 lb DB's)
-Bring DB's back 50 yds. and set them on a 5 foot platform
-Sprint back 50 yds., grab 100 lb sandbag, run it back to the platform
-Keep going until you get the rest of your items on the platform (we had a the DB's, sandbag, a punching bag, and a 50 lb weighted vest)...so that's alot of sprinting and carrying!
-Sled pull (60 yds @ 200 lbs)
-6 Tire Flips to end it (Don't know the weight but it was "heavy enough"...haha)
Oh yeah, we did it twice:)....took about 8 mins each time (it was a buddy WOD so it took a little longer because I had to wait for my partner before I could move on)
I'm telling you guys, if there's a crossfit affiliate in your area, USE IT! It is worth the money. You won't be able to do obscure workouts like this at the Y. I'm now spoiled rotten after going to this place because I never have to worry about not having materials, people don't stare, I don't have to worry about timing myself, and most importantly.....I DON'T HAVE TO WAIT TO USE EQUIPMENT AND NO ONE STEALS IT! YESSSS!

BHURB,
I have the luxury of a 3 acre field at my folks house.
I have sacks of solidified quickcrete, sand backs, tractor tires, sleds.
About once a week I put together a little medley and it's so much fun to do. I agree that there aren't enough good things that can be said for unconventional workouts like that.

where is the crossfit gym in Nashville? Im from Franklin so I had been taking a class at D1 in Cool Springs but I never knew there was a legit Crossfit near there! Would definitely be worth the drive.
Also do you know if there is one in Knoxville?

Oh man this is too funny. Crossfit Nashville is at Velocity Gym in Cool Springs haha! It's an athlete's gym and they just started doing CF about 3 months ago. It's a good laid back environment. The gym has everything you could want, ample space, and you get a week long trial period to decide if you want to purchase a membership. Send me an email and we'll get a workout or 5 in. bwh3655@gmail.com

well, i had planned a 12 hour endurance test workout for last night with a friend of mine, but at the last second he bailed out. i decided to go it alone anyway and set off.
loaded a 20lb ruck and started running
did ~9 miles with a ****load of pt thrown in(pushes, squats, burpees etc)
my left knee started to really ache when i got to the beach pt.
i figured better safe than sorry so i marched/light jogged another 8 miles back
i was out for ~4:30
17 miles is the most ive ever run/marched/jogged at one time, but im really disappointed in how this turned out.

Workout as rec'd except body rows subst for pullups (no chinning bar at home).
22 Rounds, plus 5 body rows and 6 Pressups (UK Pushups !).
First attempt at a "Cindy", so I'm pleased with my result, even though I was breathing through my hoop from round 5 onwards.

Pipeline nice job man. Sucks about your knee but you don't have much control over that.
I'm going to do an 8-9 hour beatdown sometime in early September to prepare for my ultra at the end of the month.

Hey Pipe,
you did good man. 12 hours is no joke with a 20lbs ruck. 17 miles is no joke with a 20lbs ruck.
You pushed it, you were hurting, so you shut it down a bit early!!! You were smart, unlike me when i kept pushing it the night i did the same!
Get your knee right and then you can tackle it again. Look at the weight though. 20lbs can get heavy real fast, especially on the beach!

Yeah gonna try a 50 miler using just NSC CF and CFE....we'll see how much of a disaster/miracle it will be.

disaster? naw, no way bro. after that 24 hour crucible of destruction?(where i got my idea from) i take back my "good luck" you dont need it. instead "kick ***!" seems more appropriate.
thanks dive doc. yea i knew it was the smart move at the time, but that doesnt mean i cant regret it! how was your own experience?

This is the first WOD I've ever done.
I managed 19 rounds and 3 pullups into the 20th before time ran out. Looking forward to improving. We'll see how it goes :)
