As Rx'd:

Time: 27:32

*Notes: I'm with igurman, "not too great." it'd be nice to try this one being completely rested and fresh. Run times were 6:18 and 6:30 mins.

As rx'd 34:50. Like you guys not too great but I finished. This is my third week of CrossFit and I'm starting to realize how demanding this program is. I love it! Not knowing if tomorrows workout is going to be a run, lifting or a combination ball buster. CrossFit Rules!!!!

Normally,
I'd skip an entry on a day like today, but, if it helps one then good.

The 8/5/08 workout left me very sore and blown last night.

This AM I went to do the PM portion, but I don't have fins so I was going to swim for 30 minutes or so. I stopped at 20 form was poor but a lot of the soreness receded.

The AM was started this PM at a normal time, but I was having to to slow way down and take breaks, I stopped 1/2 way through the run, knowing I was spent.

So this is called a bonk.

It'll happen, listen to your body during training and sometimes take the unscheduled rest.

WOD as Rx'd

Time=25:35

I superset the thrusters and pull-ups into 2 sets of 25 per round. I lost some time running up and down stairs to and from the track to the squat rack/pull-up bar.

Crossfit WOD
2 rounds:
Run 1 mile
50 Thrusters (65)
50 Pull-Ups

37:20

1300
Swim
1500 yards for time w/ fins

30:23

Felt good in the swim; it was the first time I used my new fins. I would recommend duck feet fins.

As rx'd in 27:20

Was shooting for 26:00 but the 2nd round pullups slowed me down. I did a Half Angie yesterday with 30# vest, so my arms were shot today anyway. Love this workout.

I'm trying to run more outside now rather than on a TM. So far it is going well. Runs where done at the track today.

As Rx'd : 28:56

I saw a buddy at the track and did another half mile with him, I had the watch stopped already so that one was off the clock.

Keep up the good work

I should have done what kieffelm and Parishke did, superset the thrusters and pullups. But, I know that I would have lost count in the turmoil. I was already hatin' life from yesterday's WODs.

Don't know why you guys are "supersetting" things...the workout said 50/50 so if you want to do the workout, do 50/50 not 25/25/25/25.

scskowron: I think there is some level of interpretation there. From what I've observed on the Crossfit forum and in the Crossfit WOD in general, a strict adherence to good form and technique are always mandated, but perhaps, for lack of a better word, a more 'relaxed' approach is applied when it comes to completing exercise sets. Don't get me wrong, I think following Coach/WOD is important, but everyone here is at a different level and has different goals. Scaling weights when necessary, breaking up sets when needed, supplementing, and modifying workouts I think are also important, and perhaps even essential to the 'spirit' and philosophy of Crossfit -- where everyone is trying to maximize their own level of fitness.

Perhaps that's too much 'naval gazing' for one post. Or perhaps that offers some justification for modifications to the WOD. Either way, I do know it's encouraging to have a forum to post one's respective progress and efforts in fitness. For those that have done the WOD strictly, post it as Rx'd. For those that have modified it, feel free to share. As I said, it's a good way to compete, gauge progress, and improve.

Cheers.
