I've been doing my own workouts this past week as I'm beginning to rehab the right foot. Still no running. But today's "Deck of Cards" WOD gave me the oppty to modify it into a monstrosity I think would strike fear into the toughest on here...

Diamonds - Diamond Pushups
Hearts - Squats
Spades - Pull-ups
Clubs - Knees-to-Elbows
Jokers - Flutterkicks (4-count) Max reps in 1:30 (approximate pace of a 400m jog) with a min of 130 FKs

Time - 24:43

This was a beating of biblical proportions! Tore 3 callouses (that now matches the ripped up wrists I have from my MU assault Friday), forearms are the size of my quads now... Hooyah! I did it outside and thanks to my profuse sweating on this hot humid day there''s now a nice sized brackish pond where I was doing my workout.

Haven't seen the "Deck" in quite some time Coach, nice call!

For clarification I didn't do 130 FKs in 1:30, that would be insanely fast. My goal was a min of 130 FKs in total for the two 1:30 max rep efforts.

Well,

I took my 2 children with me They got to do frog stands ilo of mountain climbers.

I turned off the watch, it was hoot, the whole gym was rooting them on, the ex service members were reminiscing, it was fun.

The mountain climbers for 4 count needs to be explained to me. I have a tough time just doing them.

:D

As rx'd except mountian climbers were one count in 32:08. But I didn't know if those were mountian climber pullups or some other exercise. Could you guys tell me what it is so I know next time. If it's pullups I don't know how in the hell you guys put up those great times. I did mountian climber pullups and was dying.

Yep I think I was wrong.

I thought mountain climber was the pull up where you have a bar in the middle and you pull up on each side.

The squat jump was misinterpreted as well, I did a high box, up 30" from a squat position.
After you tubing, I way overthought this one.

haha... yeah... mountain climbers are just.. from a bear crawl-ish position, bring one foot forward, set it down under your chest, give a little hop with the legs and switch.

1,2,3,4,2,2,3,4,3,2,3,4

ad nauseum.. kind of like prone flutterkicks.

Thats the mountain climber I did. I didn't even know there was another type. I guess you learn something new everyday.

For future reference, here's a link to a video of how to properly do mountain climbers.

NOTE: they don't do a 4-count, but at least you can see how the exercise is performed.

NOTE 2: She's pretty hot.
