Funny, I was about to go do "Lynne" but wanted to check the site to see what Rord served up.
Finally, a WOD I can do with my injury!

Sonov, I'm gonna have to smoke your numbers in a bit... I'm debating whether to DH or Kip... I'm leaning towards kip just to really beat the piss out of myself, and to absolutely demolish your stats ;)

Wanhhhhhh, why you always gotta pick on me? I'm gonna tell my mom.

Seriously though, I was slightly disappointed with my initial pushup scores. Feel very tight today.

Bike ride to and from Jiu Jitsu. Bike ride to work. This is SO much better than the metro.

Just got done, did this one outside in the fresh air. I went with kipping PUs, which turned out to be a mistake on round 3...

70/51
51/40
40/29

... and on rep 29 of round 3 I slid off the bar and accidentally landed on my right foot, the one with the stress fracture. After the immediate and sharp rush of pain, I decided that was a sign from up above to stop. I limped off the field to fight another day, and am heading to the pool. Too bad I had that awkward landing, all sets were unbroken and technique was efficient and solid - pushups were balanced on my left foot and from quick elbow lockout to hips/chest/nose to deck, the pull-ups were entire head over bar. I guess there is one positive takeaway, my push-up endurance has really increased substantially and my technique is more efficient.

GMT- 51 kipping pullups in 1 minute is very impressive. Did you learn the butterfly kip?

First, nice gain in muscle mass! Hope you got the strength gains to go along with it :D Second, I've kinda always had a butterfly style kip, but more of a "kick" kip. I wasn't really able to do it at that playground we used a few times because the bar only allowed a very narrow grip.

51 pullups in one minute? Holy cow. I did the Pu$$Y kip version, not the stud dead hang version. I wasn't close to 51 in a minute though. I did watch that butterfly version of a kip last week, and it is a whole lot faster than my kip. Mine is more slow and methodical. I tried to do a butterfly while I was doing mine today but managed only to throw off my rhythm and almost fell off the bar.

I did the pullups first, while Da_runner did his pushups first, then we alternated.

The old fart killed me in the pushups. crap. I had nothing today. We outside to run, and, well, we ended up outside. We both felt blah today. Hot, and dehydrated, dead legs and lethargic.

I liked this one, calisthenics are always fun. Too bad more so-called "gym rats" that I see don't take advantage. Did DH pull-ups

There was a serious drop-off between the second and third sets on push-ups, but they were all clean and I felt like I had at least 30 more in the tank on the first set. I need to be more explosive, quicker and a little less deliberate on these personally measured timed max-outs, but I've worked on pushing like that for so long, it's a hard habit to break.

P.S. rstorck, qpp, scskowron, pipeline...guys... do you eat gunpowder? Nice scores, bros. Keep it up. It motivates me to improve.

About to hit up a nice steady 4-miler in the 32:-34: range.

Hell Yeah!!

I suck at pull ups, but, I not only did well against Joe, but I smoked all you gun powder eating bucks as well.

I was blown away while doing the push-ups counting them out. Unreal it was.

Reality set back in while doing pull ups. I can't kip just do the dead stand on a bosu ball

All right ya bunch of ****talkers (pipe! ;)). The kip is a legitimate pull-up, and when going for max reps everyone in the CF world would kip - even on **** like sit-ups (watch Speal do "Annie"). Personally, I think that's a little much, but a kipping PU is tough as hell and gasses ya fast. Anyway, I'm going to redo this WOD tomorrow with DHPUs instead of kips.

DA, cheers to the "old guys" whuppin some *** today!

Craigd, welcome fellow old fart. Nice #s.

Did this WOD again today, DHPUs only:

68/20
49/15
40/13
42/15
42/15

While the numbers were lower, today didn't gas me like yesterday. Doing the kipping pullup really taxes the whole system vs. DHPUs. Pushups were hands at shoulder width at chest level to work the tris more today than yesterday.
