Hoo wee still hot as Hades here.

The kettlebell I had was in kg's and so I gave the partner the heavier one as I am the old fart between us.

Ya know there is a difference between using a real kettlebell and weight.

Mine 14 rounds, then 20 minutes of various aerobics.

His 18. and the same.

quite a 20 minute aerobic work out

hey guys

I'm back from death today. I'm still all stuffed up but I was frustrated from not being able to do the past WOD's ( 2 of the best ones too) I had to work out today. And just too add to my frustration, Italy lost to the freaky deaky dutch today, GRRR!!!!

Only hit 12 rounds today, I had to stop and rest a few times.

Then ran 1mile in 6 min.

Keep up the good work guys, some high rounds today .

Is anyone else subbing DBs for KBs of equal weight because of no access to KBs? Just curious.

Added a 4 mile run this evening.

jdoleac: I do sub dumbbells for kettlebells, as my gym does not have any kettlebells. I just grip the sides of one plate, and I think it is pretty equivalent to a kettlebell.

21 rounds. Had thirteen rounds done and we had a call with 7 minutes left,(firefighter) returned and finished the 7 minutes. I was pissed off that I had to break it up, but what can you do?

I wanted to change things up a bit; so, I did my 4-mile-timed run before the WOD. My legs started of a little tight, but I got a PR...

Time: 29:45 (slowly getting lower)

Then did the WOD as Rx'd:

15 Rounds

Jdoleac: I also use dumbells since most times I workout at a meat market that has no kettlebells; gripping the DB how deck suggested is pretty comparable to a KB: there's a slight difference in hand position.

14 rounds (actually went a few seconds over 20 to finish the round) with 50lb dumbell and 75lb SDHP. Can't wait for tomorrows workout 'cause I know I'll be sore as hell.
PAINFULL is all I have to say.

Cheers All

Nice job fellas, some real good numbers. GMT looking good!

I too use a DB for KB swings because my gym doesn't have KBs. However I grip the handle in a vertical grip (like a baseball bat). I used to just hold the end plate but when my hands get sweaty that thing starts to slip and I'm not trying to throw a weight through a mirror!

I did this one today as I was sick yesterday and took it easy. Felt about 90% today but once I started the WOD I felt good.
18 rds + 1 swing

The last time I did this WOD with this weight was 2/4/08 and I got 15 rds! Happy to see the improvement!
