Hopefully someone here can help me with this, I went to my recruiter yesterday to let him no of my intentions of enlisting to become a SEAL and I also gave him a heads up that this coming fall will be my last semester in College. I am currently 27 years old and my birthday is in Febuary. He said that it is possible that I could be called up for basic sometime in October or November because those would be the only slots available. Is this true, because then he said that the Navy would just pull me out of school and not let me finish? Now, I know that up to that point I would be in DEP and that I am not really commited at that point up until I swear in and leave for basic. Which is something that I know the recruiter would not tell me, he was making it sound as if that was it. My problem is I don't want to enlist only to find out that I can't make it to basic by my 28th birthday and cross my fingers that I will get an age waiver. Because if I end up getting resourced to some other job because of this then I just won't enlist at all because my sole purpose for enlisting would be for SEALs and nothing else. So I guess my question is if I go to MEPS in two weeks and I pass the ASVAB and PST how likely would it be that I could get a ship date in late December or early January? And, what are the specific age requirements? Do I have to be 27 by the time I get to basic so that when I actually turn 28 I am already there or can I make it to basic at anytime during my 28th year as long as its before my 29th birthday.
