Does anyone know how the Navy works in terms of re-imbursement for travel to BUD/S? I'm going to be coming from the Northeast corner of the country with a car and I'm wondering if they will pay for gas and hotels if I drive, or if I fly will they pay for the plane ticket and if I still wanted to bring my car I'd have to pay the roughly $800 it costs to ship it? Already did a search.

So: if I fly, will they also pay for the shipping costs for my car?

If I drive, will they pay for hotels also (assuming they pay for gas)?

They pay per mile, I'm not to sure how much it currently is. I drove from Norfolk, Va to Pensacola, FL, then to Los Angeles, Ca, I think they paid me around $2,000.00 or around there. They take into account hotels and everything. You can look at http://www.dfas.mil/travelpay.html to find out more info.

If you fly, they will not pay to ship your vehicle (government paid POV shipment is mainly used for overseas travel).
But, like Mike said, they will pay you for mileage and reimburse your hotel stay if you drive. The current rate for PCS is $0.19/mile.
