any suggestions for exercises if you don't have access to rings?

How many push-ups on dumbbells is equivalent to a push-up on rings? And the Crossfit FAQ says three dips on bars is equal to one dip on rings... is that what you all still recommend?

Thanks!

Didn't have rings... So did a "Connor-esque" WOD:

5 rounds w/ 75lbs:
5 DL
5 Hang Cleans
5 Front Squats
5 Push Press
5 Back Squats
5 Renegade Push Ups (w/ 45lbs DB)

Then:

Repeated the above and tried to beat my time

I was getting some pretty good looks from people in the gym which usually means it's a good workout...

Easy 2 mile run

Set Pushups Dips
1 30 14
2 21 13
3 17 11
4 18 11

Total 86 49

Easy 2 mile run

I have rings so based on my perceived effort I would say your probably ballpark counting 3 regular pushups or dips as 1 ring repetition.

Did not have access to rings, so subbed push-ups on dumbells and regular dips.

PU's: 50/40/40/40 = 170
Dips: 25/25/25/25 = 100

Total 270

Also did 10 200m runs on 1:15 on TM.

I did 5 rds.- ring dips - subbed the "perfect push up". Held leaning rest for any rest during push ups. Stood down as needed for rest on dips

push 40-27-24-24-25=140
dip 17-17-16-15-14=79

Alittle less than last time we did this.

Hi all,

Did this one, it sure is hot here.

No rings so it was push ups on 2 medicine balls and regular dips.

38/29
29/25
31/27
30/26
push total 128
dips total 107
then did the run interpreted as 10 x 2 minutes with a portion of the 2 minutes running 200 meter intervals.

No track so I treadmilled it 45 seconds at 6:00 minute pace with 1:15 at 8:30.

Tougher work out than it sounded. :D

I'm with you on that one runner. Found a set of rings today at the indoor track on campus but they're 8 feet off the ground. I did the pushups on the floor and the dips on the rings. I didn't know rings where that tough, geesh!.

Push Ups: 64/43/32/31
Dips: 15/12/10/10

As rx'd with rings:

RP: 30, 25, 25, 22 Total 102
RD: 12, 10, 10, 9 Total 41

Dips are one of my weaknesses.

Good work out! Talk about goin til failure.

No rings so I sub'd medicine ball push-ups and medicine ball dips. Talk about trying to stay stable and productive.

Push-ups: 37 / 23 / 21 / 19 - 100

Dips: 27 / 33 / 32 / 32 - 124

Followed up with 3 sets of 30 crunches on the weighted crunch machine. And ended with a mile not timed.

41 / 49
29 / 43

did a bunch of work with the jump rope today, and did Crossfit Endurance's swim WOD.

Did pu's on dumbells and normal dips. Halfway through the third round I realized I had been forgetting to take the minute break between each set; I decided to keep going without the breaks. I also wasn't paying attention when I read this yesterday; I did 5 rounds instead of 4. (I'll probably do this one again--the right way--on Sunday.)

PU: 52/20/20/24/24
Dips: 14/12/12/14/13

Went for a timed 1.5 mile run: 10:20 (Need to work on this alot before I DEP-in in August.

Then did 30 min of cardio with my heart rate between 154 and 160.

Substituted a balance ball to push on. It provided some balance an squeeze requirements that relate to the rings.

Taking off Friday and Saturday to race kayaks in central Texas. 12 Mile race. Should be fun.

Forgot to report in on this one, as RX'd on rings for both:

PUs: 35 22 17 16 19 = 109
Dips: 27 22 17 18 18 = 102

Got a lot of puzzled looks while doing this WOD. Chest/shoulders were still shot from my Murph-a-palooza on Saturday

Before...
5x5 Squats @ 265# to start getting back into my strength training regimen after a bit of a hiatus due to work-related stress impacting my training efforts.
5 MUs to warm-up

After...
10x200m sprints
