Signed up for 4 class years of NJROTC at my highschool

What should I expect? What do you do in a regular day, and is it fun, any good experiences, what kind of opprotunities, etc.

I can tell you this that it's NOTHING like real NROTC, im in a naval rotc unit at the university of south carolina and have seen some of the nrotc kids

All I have to say is, don't become one of the geeks at your school wearing jean shorts and tucked in shirts with running shoes

You can expect classroom instruction, drill and ceremonies, Physical Training (nothing too strenuous), community service, clubs, and wearing your uniform

I was in JROTC for 4 years, and you don't need it to get an ROTC scholarship or succeed in the military

It will help you learn quite a bit about the Navy. If you pay attention, give it %110 then you will benefit from it greatly. Even if you dont make the Military a career it will give you some direction in your life if you listen to your Military Instructors. I had 3 incredible Marines who taught me so much. They helped me understand alot of things most kids dont "Get" until they are 20.

Sure, there are fun times too, but its alot more than that. Let me give you one pearl of advice - when you get a promotion.. "Dont get a big head about it". Do your duty as required and be fair. If you get the big head you'll loose friends quick ~ and after all, it IS High School.
