Are there pool swimming evolutions in BUD/s just like there are conditioning runs, timed runs and runs to and from the galley? If so, what would you say the swim sets are like and how far do you swim a day?

I am not a btdt but I am going to answer anyway. If you see that ddv guy coming let me know. I have never heard of any timed evolutions being done in the pool. The only thing I have ever HEARD is the 50m underwater swim and the pool training ie hands feet tied. all of 2nd phase. I think most "hard" evolutions are in the ocean. Not too many countries will be attacked via a swimming pool by SEALS so.......

No sign of him yet, but he could be lurking. I think it's all part of his natural charm....charismatic that is! :p

Ditto that, nearly. Just swap the iced tea for Diet Dr. Pepper and the monitor for my hardwood floor.

In indoc, you'll do quite a bit of pool swims both with and without fins. I think we did 1 ocean swim in Indoc. Sometimes the class might do relay races at the pool. My class had to do relay races doing the butterfly stroke in full camies! fun fun!! Once you hit 1st phase, you'll be doing all your swims in the ocean.

My class swam thousands and thousands and thousands of meters in the pool before phase. Half the class would do a class, other half would swim. Or we all would just swim, swim, swim. Many times, the instructor, who has a video on youtube, would set-up the itterations in a specific manner. They know what they're doing with the swim work outs. My first 1 mile bay swim was an amazing 48 minutes or something like that. My best 2 mile ocean swim was 70:02.
