I was told somewhere I can start my Package for a request to go to BUD/s even though Im not yet out of the Marines I have about a year left. I know I have to finish my contract before I go but I heard I can start the package does anyone know how I can start or where to start?
pretty sure you can submit a packet, but must be separated from Marines before you go to BUD/s and will not have to go to boot camp. Might have to go to pre-buds though...maybe someone else can comment on that cause I'm not sure if you have to go to pre-bud/s but I think it's mandatory now. Call the NSW motivators in coronado and they will point you in the right direction and get the process rolling. Honestly they prob won't want to touch you until your a couple months out, but it never hurts to ask. Let me know if you want the number. I'm in the same boat as you, I'm in the Army with about a year left and trying to do an interservice transfer. If anyone has any info on the IST program please help a brother out.....

I found some information regarding your request.
Try this: MOTIVATORS@NAVSOC.NAVY.MIL
FYI -- If I can use a search engine and find this, so can you! No offense here but if you can get onto NSC, you are capable of doing your own search.
I have no problem helping out members here from time to time, but you people are getting extremely lazy and expecting everything to be handed to you on a silver platter. Life does not work that way. Seriously, it's not that difficult to use a search engine.

This is true I should have used the search enginges but I would have if I werent in Iraq. At My FOB we are limited to 30 min per comp and I have to make this searchs brief. I didnt know where to Start so I went with you all knowing that someone here has an answer and hoping by the time I got back it would be answered. My mistake though regardless

imdefaninja -- As I previously posted, no offense. Please understand that recently there has been a rash of people posting who simply refuse to search for any information on their own. That is why I posted what I did after giving you a link to the information you were looking for.
However, I am somewhat confused with your post quoted above. Your location shows you as London, England UK, not Iraq.

I can explain why it says im in England. We use SPAWAR for our internet and Phone services. SPAWAR to my knowledge is the only provider for the US and British forces in afghanistan and Iraq. I can provide Photo Proof If I need to that Im in Iraq. and By photo Proof I mean. Me my ID an IRAQI Police or Iraq Army and a Sign saying NAVY SEALS .com. haha
If Chest was in Mosul Than I wouldnt know. Im in Ramadi. I wouldnt mind Have seeing him come back from the Dead though. =-p

imdefaninja -- No proof is necessary. It wasn't until several hours later that it dawned on me why the difference in location showed. Unfortunately due to a computer problem, I wasn't able to login.
You have my sincerest apology.

Hey how is Ramadi these days. I just got back from there last October. Is it still pretty quiet or have things started back up again. When we left that place was dead. I think we only got gunshots or Vbieds like once every other week. When I first got there beginning of 07 we were always getting stuff everyday. Let me guess you use the armies internet building to dont yea.

Hey imdefaninja, YES GET YOUR PACKAGE ROLLING NOW! I have my completed package in front of me but im already Navy, but theres no reason why you cant get started!
This is what you can do to prepare... when getting this paperwork make (2) copies... one to turn in, one to have incase they lose it. Be especially respectful and courteous when going through this process or else it will be a bumpy road. The dive physical is only good for up to a year... so wait a little bit before getting all the bloodwork/ekg ect... done because it will be void when your EAOS is up in a year... but its good to know what to do now!
-Get a copy of your ASVAB scores out of your service record
-Depending on what base your on, they might have a DMO/UMO (Dive medical officer), if not oh well... go up there to medical and ask for a Dive Physical Screening... I dont see why they wont do it... just explain why your asking for one even though your a Marine.
-If they dont have the paperwork here it is (print this sh!t out):
http://buperscd.technology.navy.mil/bup_updt/508/milpers/1220-100%20Exhibit%208.htm
http://www.ndc.noaa.gov/pdfs/dd2808.pdf
http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/infomgt/forms/eforms/dd2807-1.pdf
MAKE SURE CORPSMAN/DOC HELP YOU FILL THIS OUT! Dont want to screw up and have to restart.
-Chest x-ray
-EKG
-Updated Hearing/eyesight (which will be put on those forms i gave you)
-Bloodwork (blood glucose.. hiv... **** they test for)
-Urinalysis (steroids ect..)
-Hyperbaric Pressure Chamber test (talk to divers on base)
Those are things you can do once you get back in the states... Any corpsman can help you complete all these medical documents but a doctor will examine you to fill out the rest of the things you cant... he/she will examine you head-to-toe and write down any discrepencies about you. Once you have all paperwork/tests completed a DMO/UMO will have to review all the paperwork and endorse it... which if you dont have one on base they can fax it to one.
PST!! Get rolling on that... you need to be comfordable with the CSS (combat swimmer stroke). Heres a link to the PST requirements: http://www.seal.navy.mil/seal/PST.aspx . On these forums are alot of information how to prepare... but one important piece of your package is the PST endorsement/scores.
You need to start preparing for a transfer to the Navy, use your chain of command to figure out how to do that because I have no idea.
Once you are in the Navy you will have to submit a special request chit to apply for BUD/s. From there once its approved you should have all your paperwork in your medical records / package in hand.. from there your career couselor will help you fill out a 1306 / submit the package to BUPERS.
Any more questions PM me/ask here... ill try my best to help you answer
Good luck man... hooyah!

Thank You Mason for the helpful Info.
Speeding. Ramadi has changed alittle bit. We lost one of our guys about 2 weeks ago and things have picked up. Also All the civilians left town or somewhat of a HUGE convoy. SOOO we all know what that means..
