Hello all, I was just wondering if anybody knew the differences between EOD enlisted and commissioned. Is EOD 'Officer' paper pushing or actually out with your men in the field? I have two years to go in NROTC and am trying to decide if EOD is right for me. Any information on commissioned EOD would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm still in the training pipeline right now, so I honestly couldn't answer the question.

THe first few years are operational as a platoon OIC/AOIC. After you leave the Mobile Unit, you may get a shore detachment. Once that gig is up, it's time to man the desk.

Also look for DDSSDV, he is retired EOD, very knowledgeable.

EODJW, would you be my contact for guys asking EOD questions? I have a young guy right now asking some questions. If so, let me know (email or PM).

Looks like I now have the perfect Diver Contact! :)

Thanks a Million!

Great! Thank You! Later on ill forward the young man's email to you. He just has some basic questions about EOD. My stepson was starting out in EOD (was in SERE) and got hurt. He's been helping as much as he can. But its great to know people you can point others to. Thats what this site is all about.

Thank you! Thats why alot of us old guys put our time in, we do what we can to help in whatever we can to help them suceed. :)
