After searching on this site about advancement exams during BUD/s I have learned that upon completion of BUD/S You become an SO and are elgible for the SO exam but I was unable to find an answer to whether or not I would take my current rate's exam in the early stage of BUD/S. Example: I check into BUD/S in August and the September exam cycle comes around. Should I expect to take my current rate's exam or do you miss the exam because you are at an "A" school trying to get a new rate. I would appreciate any informed responses. I searched and searched and found nothing.

If you are eligible for advancement, you will take your exam. Your OIC/LPO will make sure the guys who are eligible have their names sent to BUD/S staff, and they will make sure you have a test.

Are you serious??!! I could see if they were up for 1st class getting denied, but exams for 3rd and 2nd should have been allowed.
Myself, and the guys eligible in my class were allowed to go to the galley, take the test, and do Mach 3 back to the Center... :)
