HOOYAH everyone ... well i graduated basic on april 4th im chillin at tsc for a lil while now till i head out to coronado in a few weeks... definitely cant wait to be out there.... its all thats been on my mind for the last 2 months and soon itll be the only thing i need to think about... for anyone in dep with a contract waiting to leave for basic just remember to keep your goals in mind the entire time at rtc because with the enviroment there its very easy to lose track of what you want (not because of being overwhelmed, more from the mindlessness repitition) and make sure that you pt every single chance u get... its over beforew you know it and soon youre off to bigger better things. im looking forward to seeing you all out there!!!
P.S. a big hooyah to all class 58 graduates, you've accomplished something that is still just a dream for me...

Congratulations jmr and Good Luck when you hit Coronado. Stay focused and I'm sure you'll do just fine. It's going to warm up here in the Chi Town area this week and hopefully it will stay that way.

Hey guys. I just got my SWCC contract last week and i was looking up random info about it. It says there are only 600 active duty SWCC. To me that means its either inaccurate or the drop out rate is extremely high because it seems to me that 600 is a low number of active SWCC considering there are a few thousand SEALs. Does anyone know what the pass/fail rate is for SWCC and SEALs? So basically, given that Im physically and mentally ready for SWCC or SEALs, what program would be more likely to wash someone out?

Both programs are hard and DOR rates vary. As for how many SWCC there are please quote your source.

What decides how long the SWCC guys stick around till going to Coronado? Can you leave the base during the weekends... say if your of legal drinking age and want to hit up Chicago? Thanks

here is the paragraph along with the link to the site.
" Number of SWCC Forces
Naval Special Warfare has a small, powerful, and elite force of 600 active duty and 125 reserve SWCC operators, all of whom are enlisted personnel. These Special Warfare Boat (SB) operators support the worldwide operations of 2,450 active duty and 325 reserve SEALs. The total NSW force of 5,400 active duty and support personnel and 1,200 reserves comprises only 1% of all Navy personnel. "

can anyone please varify what this means?

when youre in great lakes it basically depends on how u work the system and who u talk to.... when i was waiting there we could do just about anything... no real curfew or anything... u just need to stay trouble free. as for coronado this place is great... its gonna be a while before i class up due to the fact that i need to get prk.. hopefully i can find a way to get it done fairly soon. as of right now its looking like 61-2 for me:( oh well im here and thats all that matters

attrition rate is roughly 55-60%. the highest number graduated from bct is 18 as far as i know. youll usualy start with roughly 40 people

Naw, your numbers are a little low.
BCT does start with about 40 people, but, out of those 40, anywhere from 15 to 30 will make it. My husband's BCT class ended with 25 guys, and the class after his ended with 23.

The average BCT class finishes with 22, which means the attrition rate for BCT is just below 50%... But you still have to do CQT which is twice as long as BCT before you get your SWCC pin, and i am not sure what the attrition rate of that is... so all together my guess is probably around 65% attrition rate
