Can anyone briefly describe what the SWCC school 72 hour arduous evolution is like? Is it like Hell Week for three days no sleep and never ending torture or more of a simulated mission on boats type deal with classroom time as well?
As always, thanks in advance for any credible replies and another Hooyah for Class 58 grads!

That doesnt sound anything like a "hell week." Was the lack of sleep even an issue like it is in bud/s hell week?

Its a planning and training evolution that has you plan a mission and execute it. There is some sleep deprivation, but since the SWCC guys are required to drive boats at the end of the evolution, too much sleep deprivation would be down right dangerous. Ask the SEALs what sorts of tasks they have trouble with at the end of Hell Week and you will know why it is a bad idea to have anyone operating heavy equipment at the end of that kind of evolution.
SWCC does not pretend to have a tougher course of training than Hell Week. Hell Week is the epitome of hellish training.
SWCC does have training that is as hard or harder than regular BUD/S training. It depends on the day. In a particular day, BUD/S training could be harder than SWCC as well.
You really should not compare which training is harder. You should compare the differences in types of training. SWCC are training to operate boats in high seas. It requires more engineering training and operation of high speed boats. SEALs train for land and SCUBA operations, which require more humping gear and water time.
Trust me, if you open up pandora's box and start the argument about which one is harder you will not like the results.
Choose based on the job you want to do. If its a kick in the nuts you want, send me your address and a plane ticket and I will satisfy that WITHOUT you having to go to BUD/S or SWCC.

I agree, I also Agree that say rescue swimmer school, on a **** day could be hard or harder that buds or SWCC school. Hell when I was there at 17 we had two swcc guys who didnt graduate, one of them it was his second time there. Im not trying to compare schools, I do remember thinking a couple times I was going to drown though at sar school.

Why were SWCC guys going through SAR school?
Knowing how much they do in the water during SWCC training doesn't make sense why they would go...

They were trying to be sar swimmers, changing jobs, never asked them a lot of questions. Not sure why they didnt make it, they were in the class behind me.

Again, I don't know why they would leave the SpecWar community to be a SAR swimmer... no offense.
I have never heard of this happeing before. SAR swimmers usually GO to BUD/S or SWCC training, not the other way around...
I had a buddy who was a SAR swimmer on the Eisenhower. And the only time he did anything SAR related was when some chode decided to throw himself off the flight deck... otherwise, he did galley detail, or whatever other BS his shop needed...

100% agree, not sure either. I had a lot of fun doing the job I was fortunate to get some saves which was awesome and your right its usually the other way around, just like now im going to buds. Like i said not sure why they didnt make it, hell it might of been that they realized where they were and wanted to get back to there comm.

K...in now way am i trying to compare which is easier or harder, the first thing i came to accept in SpecWar is that there is NOOOO easy way out which way you go. I was simply trying to get a sense of whats in store for that particular evolution, as it was not discussed in detail in the 17 pages of previous threads. Hell Week in bud/s makes a huge chunk of trainees DOR, a few that might have made it through Bud/s if Hell Week wasnt there. I might be wrong but from the stories ive heard and videos ive seen on Hell Week, many guys who DOR didnt even realize they did until it was too late.
I just wanted to see if the SWCC evolution was anything similar..thats all.
Again, thanks for the replies!
