I've been told by the SEAL mentor in my area that if i joined the Navy this summer at the age of 17 then i'd have to wait till i'm in my early 20s to get PRK, because there is no other way to get it early. On the other hand I have a friend who lives in South Cali and recently got in touch with a SEAL who just passed SQT, this SEAL tells my friend that he can get PRK under 18. His eye sight is 20/40 - 20/70 and mine is 20/150 or maybe a little better. Is there any way for me to get PRK under 20?

Another thing, if that is not an option then what do you guys suggest I do in my situation to make it into BUD/S. Would I get more and better preperation for BUD/S if i did 4 years in the Marines then switched over, or is Navy from the Start the best option?

You join the Marines to be a Marine. You don't do it for a "BUD/S Prep".

Lycurgus posted about this a while back. He was a Marine first then did Navy. He said just go Navy.

King Henry, by preping for BUD/S i meant mental also. I know i can meet the physical requirements with my own time. Just that in the Marines there are more drill sergeants yelling at you and more people messing with your mind compared to the Navy. Also Marines have a lot of hand to hand combat courses and all that.
Does this guy who said go through the navy from the start say everything he gained through Marines can be gained through Navy also?
