To all those active duty types with bad vision.
I have 20/400 vision and still wanna rock and roll at BUD/S so I got my LASIK/PRK 1336-6 chit approved today and eventhough I am 20/400 (WAY outside the normal standards for SEALs) I can still drop my package after my surgery is finished and my recovery time has settled (I spoke to one of the Motivators about this). So Keep on your chain of command about getting the surgery if you were in my boat. Just a head's up. Any questions feel free to shoot them my way.

I am almost exactly in the same boat as you. I currently have 20/400 in my left eye and 20/200 in my right, and i read on the Navy SEALs web site that the worst eye site they will perform lasik or prk on is 20/200, so does this hinder all of my chances at being admitted to BUD/S. Ive searched near and far and i could not find anything this specific so any thing would be helpfull thanks in advance. HOOYAH

Hey Joe, are you currently Active Duty or are you waiting to DEP in? Shoot me an email at holden.mark@gmail.com and I can walk you through either process.

AED,
I shot an email to the SEAL Motivator and checked into the wait time for PRK for you. You have to wait only 3 months for PRK and 6 months for LASIK. So your wait time will only be 2 more months. Where are you stationed?

Holden I sent you an email. Hope you can get back to me sometime. I'm really concerned about my vision issue.
