It has been a long time since I've been on. My husband and I both started new jobs/promotions this year and that has been overwhelming.

My son will be visiting the sandbox soon for the first time and we were not able to attend the family information meeting due to distance and other obligations. He gave me a packet of information but it looks like family to the Navy means spouse and children.......which he does not have. Is there someplace I can call to get infomation? I read through the packet and I plan on having a very blunt discussion with my son - we've had general conversations but I see the need to be very detailed about some things now.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Heard from son. He called my husband. We now have an address. I'm starting to put together his first care package. People always ask if I'm worried about him. I think about him all the time but I'm not really frightened right now. I figure he is with a very highly trained group... then I tell them he is doing his job.

Hi Navymom - looks like we're in the same boat for a while... would love to hear from you occasionally when you hear from him -

Stepmom to SEAL - Is your SEAL on team 3? Have you done this before? Son says he will get internet intermittently so hopefully I will hear from him soon. I rank after his gf though. (At this time in his life - and with this gf - that is probably the way it should be...) How long does it take mail to get to him?

nope, and yes this is my first time (I don't think they like for us to publish their teams here; not 'supposed' to know which teams are deployed when...)

So far it's only been taking about 10 days to APO; we've gotten a few e-mails but he has talked to gf nightly. Depends on where they are, I'm sure!

I tried to 'activate' my PM, but can't figure out how - drop an e-mail to lamarrgt@aol.com if you'd like.

Thanks sealwife...and stepmom. I did send you both e-mails but when I looked back at the forum I mixed up your addresses........sorry. :-/ The messages were similar.

My excuse it that I am a sixth-grade teacher at an elementary school and it is spring..........my kids are going bananas. I feel as if I'm trying to keep wild horses in a corral!

may God keep your boy's safe ladies. I remember what my Mom went through when I was in the Navy. I was a regular sailor and not a SEAL I must add.
