Would some say that the running demands for EOD's and divers at dive school are similar to what BUD/s candidates go through?
I want to be prepared for everything, but know also whether to spend majority of time getting comfortable with long swims or spend a little more time working on ultra distance runs...which is more important in other words for an EOD...water or running endurance. Thanks

The warning order for EOD and divers is the same as for BUD/S except the times are longer for the swim and run. As for the schools, BUD/S is 6 months as EOD and dive school are half that give or take. Check out the NDSTC website. The diving portion of EOD is at the same facility.

I probably stated my question incorrectly...I meant is the daily running conditioning that eod/divers perform at dive school very similar to the pace/time of that which seals are doing at conditioning when they arrive at BUD/s?

I don't know how the runs are at BUD/S, but if you're going to EOD dive school, you don't need to concern yourself with BUD/S at all. Just focus on the EOD warning order and that will get you where you need to be. But, you do need to get comfortable with swimming with fins on your back with your arms crossed across your chest. And treading water with your hands out of the water. If you do that, you'll be as ready as you can physically. A lot of it is mental. Good luck.

Well said. There was once an EOD class shirt that made the rounds. It was a play on a BUD/S shirt. It said:

"So you want to be a Frogman...

Wrong school Dumb a$$"

Chief,
That's a good one. I wish I could've seen that shirt. How are things going over there? It's getting down to the wire here. Three weeks to go. A lot of planning with movers and getting everything squared away. Amazing how fast time has gone by. The older, the faster, I guess. I hope all is well.

Things are good. Training is good. Enjoy the last couple weeks. You won't have a lot of down time for a while.

Good to hear. I have been taking advantage of the time. It's been a good year for us. But, we're both ready for the road ahead...well, as ready as we can be. I look forward to it.
