I can't seem to find an answer to this question anywhere. I've talked to several recruiters who didn't know the answer so I thought that I'd try it on here. Do the Teams ever send officers to 18-Delta for any reason? I know its an enlisted specialty, but I'm just wondering.

There's a difference between officers and enlisted. Officers are generalists. They are comparable to the managers of a company. The enlisted men are the technical experts who get to go get qual'd in freefall jumpmaster, med, dive supe, 18b/c/d/e/f, and so on. Military officers can and do go to speciality schools like sniper, but they argue it's to help them better lead their snipers as it gives them a better understanding of the job. Military officers, nonetheless SEAL officers, won't have time to attend 18D and it would be a waste of time and a bad use of resources. Officers receiving training that will help them better do their job, which is not what a 18D or corpsman does.

Untrue. You must be DMO qualed to provide doctor care at NSW. This and combat medical training are obviously part of what the Teams do. They do see the everyday issues at sick call as well.

This has nothing to do with the topic...

I reread your post and I see what you're trying to get at. I don't think the guy is asking about officers attached to the teams but SEAL officers.

I will clarify. SEALS are not doctors or medics.
