Hello,
Now in the 8 weeks of boot, will specops do different PT than non specwar/specops recruits? I couldnt find too much info about bootcamp PT only the prep course afterwards. Thanks

I have no clue. It's been 19 years since I was at GL.

yes, the specwar guys are in their own division at RTC and get a lot more pt than regular guys.

I do know this only applies if you are in a SPECOPS/SPECWAR Division. Not everyone gets into one of these do to shipping dates.

Yeah I signed EOD contract a couple months ago. My original ship date was March 20 but after passing pst, changed to May 21. Just want to know if Ill be grouped with other EOD & divers at boot camp. I would hope so.

In RTC you go to dive motivators with the other SPECWAR/OPS recruits. it consists of an hour, maybe three times a week of basically getting beat in the pool or running. thats all the extra PT. I just had 5 people I was in DEP with get out and walk me through basically everything that goes on there. They all said that you will get out of shape at RTC. Then pick it up in the prep course.

do they get enough free time to try to STAY in shape? i havent talked to any specwar guys that have gone through rtc yet. my brother made it clear that he had plenty of free time to stay in shape, (or in his case, to start smoking) the 3 times a week sounds kind of disappointing. that would really suck to bust my *** all this time just to lose it at rtc

they said you start out with 5 days a week, then it goes to three times a week and some weeks towards the end you might not go at all. this depends on what the navy has planned for you to become a sailor, because that is the reason why you are at RTC.

When I went through it was tough to get to dive motivators every morning, you have to have enough discipline to get up earlier than you have to normally. You won't get a lot of sleep between that and getting up to iron your uniform every night lol. Make sure your RDC's know that you NEED to get there.
