I feel like I really want to try to become a Navy SEAL, but another thing that seems appealing is becoming a Force Recon Marine. I want an in depth, solid answer preferably from someone with experience about the SIMILARITIES and DIFFERENCES between the two. What do each of them do exactly? (And if possible I'd like some examples). I'm really trying to get a feel for what each one would be like/what I'd be doing and any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Oh.. you want an indepth answer.. right away!..
Why don't you simply google the two and do a comparison?
or
Do some research on this site and the 100's of other's?
Your lack of initiative is lame.

This site will have the most info about SEALs, so I would read everything under the Learn and Take the Challenge tabs to gain the most knowledge about SEALs. However on Force Recon just search in on google and learn from there.

Thanks. This site has been extremely helpful for finding info on the SEALs and I already have googled and looked at many other sites on both but it's sketchy on which sites you can trust, you know?

Yeah if your seriously thinking about enlisting within a couple years, I would go and talk to a recruiter about both and how to become both.

From what I've read/heard Force Recon is no more, unless you are Reserves. They've all been folded into MARSOC and Deep Recon Platoons (within Recon Battalions).

Not sure if there's a direct route to MARSOC, but I know you can get a UZ-Recon contract (sometimes) or just signup/tryout for it at SOI (School of Infantry).

As MARSOC is nearly brand new/only a few years old, there isn't really much online in terms of the "pipeline" you'll be going through.

Figure it out yourself. READ. Here is a link to start but if you do talk to ANY recruiter try to use proper grammer and NOT sound like your 12 (unless you are).

Also try www.socnetcentral.com

There are LOTS of jarheads over there that would be glad to feed on ya.
