Im currently trying to go back to BUD/s from a command that I have been in less then the recommended 18 months. I just got a new ******* ripped open 6 ways from sunday and Im totally lost on what to do now. I have been trying to put my package in for BUD/s for some time now but I keep getting pushed back 10 steps every 5 I take. I know the SEAL Detailers have the power to overide the 18 months required time at a command. But i NEED it in writing before I can take one more step. Im on the last edge with my higher ups and I was blindsided because I push an issue that I CANNOT LEAVE UNTIL 18 MONTHS IS COMPLETED, Period, no ifs ands or buts about it. Please someone help me prove them otherwise.

Its up to your command. I wouldn't piss them off. You had a chance and DOR'ed. Step back, re group, do your time, fix what went wrong THEN try again. Simple.

You only have to be on board for one day, however that is depending on what your command approves of and then if and when your detailer will let you go. They can't override any of that. If you CO put 18 mos on the 1306 then it's 18 mos. In my case I can leave tomorrow however my detailer will not release me because there aren't enough MR2's in the Navy.

No I am not wrong because that is exactly what I have been dealing with for the past year. I was originally told minium time on station is 2 years. Well guess what after I checked into my new command April 07 I discovered from the Navy SpecWar SWCC detailer that after he done a little research he discovered that the only minium amount of time to be on station is one day you just have to be checked in. Now will your command let you go after one day probably not but by instruction you can. My command signed my 1306 with no minium time on station they signed it 2 months ago had I submitted it 6 months ago then I would have had it approved for me to go then. Well now after all that it brings me to my current situation which is getting released from the MR detailer who as of right at the moment will not allow me to go because the Navy is short on MR's. Now the SWCC detailer spoke to the MR detailer and so has my Chief and unfortunanetly there is nothing that can be done until the numbers of MR's changes which could happen at the end of the month or next month or the month after we don't know. It's a waiting game so maybe things have changed since you were around but that is the way it is and that is what is going on as we speak. If there is a way around this or if this is so totally wrong then show me the instruction and help me out!!

Josh,
I have a kid, dropped his dive pin to go to BUD/S again, DORed, is on a haze gray POS, jus submitted his EOD package and may very well be out of the bluewater Nav. I have to say, do everything 150% whereever you are and the good deals come your way. It sounds...sounds like your command thinks of you as a average dude. They will not help you. You have to smoke everything you do. Thats all I can tell you. Its in the blood or not. Show them...everyday. Volunteer for EVERYTHING.

Your two post have just confused me. The first one you tell me I don't know what I'm talking about so I get more suspecific about the details. I'm not asking for advice I know how it works. For me this is another bump in the road that will work itself out and I will get my chance because I have given a 150%. As far as how my command thinks of they obviously wouldn't signed my 1306 to leave at anytime if they think I'm a average dude. If your going to post responses to these guys questions then you have to post better responses than "once you complete bud/s you will know all the answers to your questions" that kind of answer does not help someone out. For that matter than can be the answer to every question. And further more when I post a answer or response or input to any topic if I do not know for sure what the answer is I always leave the door open for others who have more knowledge on the subject matter to elaborate more on my answer and correct me if I am wrong. I'm on here to learn and to prepare for my future and I'm also on hear to help those who are trying to walk in the path that I have already walked in. So I would appreciate a little more support from other subject matter experst on here to show these younger guys that we work as a team that is what this is about. Not given sarcastics replies to everyones questions or comments. Not trying to stir the pot but hey these guys need help and this is where they turn so we need to help them.

Sounds like you have been coached on your response. YOU will not know until you have already BTDT. Simple. Stop asking for the answers to something no one can tell you. I can only tell you of MY experience. You will not ever be in my position so why tell you how I did my gig? I gave you basic advice of what to expect but you have to experience it. The 10% is growing everyday because of the coddling of the neverhaves. Its utter crap. You have to man up and experience it yourself. NO ONE can tell you what YOU ARE gonna experience....you will.

BTW...PM me if need.

You know the thing is I'm not asking you for what I'm going to experience I'm simply responding to the question in the begining of this thread and your calling me out saying I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. I'm just trying to be sure that this guy and others get good advice regardless if it comes from me, you or anyone else. And what in the world does "Sounds like you have been coached on your response" mean?

It's cool though I'm not wasting any more energy or time on this discussion. I just don't like being called out on something that I am right on when the person calling me out can't provide valid evidence that I am wrong. I also do not want someone to be steered away because of bad advice or poorely worded advice. Like I said team work I know that you can provide and have provided some great advice to these guys but we need to not steer away from great advice and start with sarcastics unhelpfull advice. I'm done, take care see you on other threads.
