I am currently trying to get into the Navy and am a prior service Marine. I have been waiting 3 weeks already and I can't seem to find anybody I could get a hold of to tell me whats going on. I would think that 3 weeks is enough time for a piece of paper to get all of the signitures it needs. I was just wondering if anyone else has had to deal with this.

So the recruiters arent keeping in touch with you? You might just be working out of a crappy recruiting station, try going to another recruiter spot and see whats up, and tell them your situation. First make sure the current recruiters your working with are on the same page as you.

SK,,,you need to see an OSVET recruiter NOT the knucklehead at the local station. Prior service vets are hard to get back in. Sounds wierd but thats what it is. More than likely your info can be found online as to where to find an OSVET. Try the local Naval Reserve Center. They may be able to help you. Be prepared to lose a rank though and unless your MOS in the Corps is compatable you may find yourself being advised to go into boatswains mate. MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT IN WRITING! Re read my last and never forget. Good luck.

Not that there is anything wrong with the Boatswains Mate rate.
Let me see if I can find Ruger204, he spent some time recruiting. It might be a little later this evening.

When I got out of the Marines in 2002 it took me about 3 or 4 months to get processed into the Navy. I had to compete for a slot. It sounds gay, and it is, but it will be worth it on the other end. I'm in the Teams now and I love what I do. You will not be sorry. What area of the country are you currently in?
