..ok, since i'm new here, i'm not sure if this is the right forum to be posting this so i'm sorry if it's not.

alright, so lately within the past month, i've noticed my right eye getting blurrier. Together, both my eyes see fine but when i cover up my left eye only, my right eye seems to see things blurrier than the other eye. During Spring Break, i'm going to go get my eyes checked and i'm guessing i'll most likely have to wear a contact in my right eye. now on this website and others, it says: "Uncorrected vision no worse than 20/200 in both eyes. Both eyes must be correctable to 20/20."

from the sound of it, it looks like you have to have 20/20 vision and have no contacts / glasses. the thing is, i'm only 16 but i've been wanting to join the Navy SEALs for a long time now and i've slowly been working towards it and it'd kill me to not be able to do BUD/s because of one eye... so here's my question(s):

1) when you join, do you have to have PERFECT vision and if not, is there some sort of correctable surgery to fix your eye(s)?
2) i know having 'bad' vision will effect training / missions, but is there ANYTHING that would still allow me to do the training?

Thanks in advance for any answers. i just really hope my one eye doesn't effect anything for me. =(

There are a lot of very knowledgable professionals on here that can give you some very valuable advice and suggestions to achieve your goals. However, vision questions have been asked and answered extensively several times in different threads. Do a little digging and research before posting such a question, you may be suprised at what you find, as thatguy has so nicely found for you!
