Well, the orders came in today and I chose MU 3. That's where the majority of the orders were. I'm happy with it. I know a lot of good guys there. Big change from before, but it was really what my wife wanted and that's a big part of it.

Hair gel....well, my wife has informed me in the last year or so that I should get some thickening shampoo which means, I think, that I may be thinning a bit, but I don't believe her. Our grad date is April 23rd. I am happy with it. I really would have loved to go overseas, but it's just not practical now with what my wife is studying in school. They don't really have a lot of medical programs to study overseas, and the schools in CA are really cheap. I would have been happy with anything. I just want to get to work and really learn a lot. Of course, as we've seen with almost every class in the past 6 months, those orders are subject to change. Until I have them on bupers, I won't believe it.

Congrats and hope you get those orders. I've been a PSI at MU3 for a little over a month now and everybody there seems pretty legit, good group of Dets and pretty chill. Sure you'll enjoy it and good luck finishing up the class. I start Great Lakes in June and am ready as ever and anxious as all hell!

I'm not sure what you mean by pretty legit. Do two to three deployments in country for most Techs make them "legit"? As far as everybody being "pretty chill", that must be a West Coast thing.

beaudob,
I'm pretty familiar with MU3. I PSI'd there a few years ago the first time I tried to go through the program. A good friend of mine that I PSI'd with has been there for a few years and is flying in to pin me. All of the techs that I met there took it very seriously and do it all for the right reasons. Good luck. It's a long road. Definitely get ready for GL. I've heard it's gotten tougher and tougher up there.
Chief,
I'm sending you a PM on the other site.

Don't look too much into it. Just seems like a good group of Techs is all, from what I've seen. I'm not entirely accustomed to the community so forgive me for using loose terms such as 'legit' and 'chill', personally I wouldn't mind being stationed there.
And yes, 'chill' is a word synonamous with San Diego, lol.
Gator, I'm ready for Great Lakes physically and mentally, I assure you that. Good luck again!

MU3 is as good as it gets (on the west coast). The location is bad because of the lack of training areas close by.

Thanks. My original class is graduating tomorrow and we'll be there to give them a big Hooyah! Great guys. Made some great friends here. My wife's going to their ceremony, as well. We'll miss 'em. I'm about 6 weeks behind them now. Can't wait to get there.
jw,
How's the workup going? You liking it? Hope all is well with you.

Good to hear. My orignal class graduated today and we were able to attend. It was bittersweet. Very proud of them, but wish I was with them and will definitely miss some of them. Good guys. 6 more weeks.

beaudob,
EOD2 (EWS) Trapp wants you to come see him at Det 11. Just finished talking to him. It'll be fun. He was a PSI with me a few years ago and is one of my best friends. Tell him that people that he's slow and Damian said so. He'll like that. Let me know how it goes. Well, I'm sure he'll be calling me.

jw,
I tried to go to the other site to read your message, but I can't get onto it for some reason. Also, I failed my comp test today. Got an 84.6. The last test in school and I failed it. Really disappointed. Have to re-test Monday. Not a good feeling.

Good to go. Just got back from Mayport. Lots of diving. Some at night. Really good training. Really long days and nights, but it was great to be around the instructors in this environment. Every CP is really starting to work as a team and learning a lot. Our CP was lucky to have an EODCS Master Tech and EOD1 Senior Tech as our point instructors. They let us make the mistakes and fix them. Great individual instruction. Awesome. One more month left. Two more weeks of Underwater and on to EQT.

Well, we finished our Full Mission Profile today so we're finished with Underwater except for turning over CP's to next class. It was great here. Good training. We had a lot more responsibility here than anywhere else. We have about 2 more weeks of EQT starting next Wednesday. I can't believe it's come so fast.
