Been battling these damn shin splints for what seems like months now. Stopped running for a full three weeks. Then when I ran last time, I only allowed myself 2.5 miles in a whole week, 3 the next.
Turns out I have some kind of swelling on the side of my right shin, about two inches above my ankle. Doesn't hurt, and it's rather slight, so I only just noticed it. But when I jump or move I can feel something moving around on the inside. Not pain, just....weird and disturbing.
So I'm going to a doctor, which I hoped to avoid till I got back to the States. So all run/jump whatever WODs will not be in my repetoire for a while. In the mean time I have to go to a doctor to get a pass for the pool too, so I can't swim either. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.............
RSCTT, you've replied extensively and repeatedly to posts [once mine] about shin splints. Does what I'm experiencing sound familiar to you? Also, I remember you said something about exercises to prevent shin splints. Can I get that from you. Of course I'll be researching this too, just wanna hit it from all angles and just realised it was a real problem.
