Correction : THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE FOR THIS VIDEO.
By the end it did make me cry. Thanks for posting it.
I think it is so sad that our media and the masses are more interested in celebrities' lives than the lives of our brave soldiers. Just once I would like to see a fallen soldier's life reported on as much as they did for Heath Ledger.
And why hasn't Oprah chosen Lone Survivor for her Book Club or had Marcus Luttrell on her show?

If I was to venture a guess, I would have to say because of their DRAMATICALLY different political views. Oprah is very liberal in her political beliefs. And, I think after reading Lone Survivor, that it's safe to say that Mr. Luttrell would be classified as a hard-core conservative, as are most of the people in the military...at least that's been my observation since I was a little boy growing up on military bases all over the US.
Marcus Luttrell and all men like him, past and present, are heroes. No amount of book sales or marketing will ever change that one way or the other. If he sells a gazillion books, he'll still be the same exact hero he was yesterday.

Hey V, I totally agree with your statements and no matter what, Marcus Luttrell and all men like him will always be heroes. But since he is donating all proceeds from his book sales to the families of the fallen seals, it would be nice if the book sold a gazillion copies and Oprah has the power to do that. Oprah can be as liberal as they get but she should remember that it is the soldiers who protect her freedom. I suppose if Marcus wrote an anti-war novel, Oprah would have come knocking on his door. In any case, we just concentrate on the wrong things in this country and we reward the wrong people. I guess I am a bit jaded living in tinseltown.

For the simple reasons that it doesn't suit her needs and wants! I've met the woman twice, spoken with her both times and believe me she is not what or who she apppears to be on television. She is a control freak and things had better go her way or you better not be in her direct path.

That was powerful. It brought back many memories of returning to Norfolk after my first Med cruise in '88. Pier 12 had to have 5000 people there welcoming us home. Most were there because they had loved ones on the ship, but certainly not all. And after the "issues" we had in several French ports and after the downing of the Libyan Migs and after the "complications" in Haifa, Israel...it was powerful to come home to a greeting like that. One i'll never forget...
