All:
this forum came about from a member request after the spate of SEAL casualties recently:

["As you may know in the past couple of weeks the SEAL community has lost now 4 men, and maybe a 5th I hear... it's all too heart wrenching. I was wondering if you could have a "Fallen Warrior" thread for people to post only about the brave men who have died. Information can be exchanged here not only to update people, but to celebrate their lives. I just spent 20 minutes researching the Internet about a SEAL that died in Marana today, and it would have been so nice to check out your site first for any information (or to post it myself). Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter."]

We hurt when a fellow warrior goes down in the line of duty, and at NavySEALs.com we often get many requests for information about how to pay respects to the warrior and the family, or how to donate to help ease the pain. Much of this information flows from the press or email traffic. As you all know, that is an inefficient way to get information, at best. We also need to be very sensitive to the memories and surviving family members of our fallen warriors. Therefore, this forum will be heavily moderated. Please post only information that is of value to members and visitors, and that will honor the warriors and uphold the reputation of the warrior, the NSW community, the military at large, NavySEALs.com and the country. We are hopeful that this forum can help people with the grief process, help families get information out about memorials and donation requests, and the like. Thank you for caring and for honoring our request.
Sincerely, Mark Divine, NavySEALs.com

For all the warriors that are sent into harms way, may god watch over them and their families.

There are no more moving or soul stirring words than those of the Navy SEAL hymn, and never more fitting than for a fallen hero.

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea.

Eternal Father, faithful friend,
Be quick to answer those we send
In brotherhood and urgent trust
On hidden missions dangerous;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee
For SEALs in air on land and sea.

May God grant peace onto the souls of the warriors that we lose from Naval Special Warfare.

Amen.

I have created a few new threads. One is for members of SEAL's familes to communicate with each other. I would prefer if non-family members not post to this thread unless you feel it is relevant to the discussion. The other thread is a place where all are welcome to pay tribute to these warriors. Lastly, I want the thread/s about specific incidents to remain uncluttered and only contain credible information relevant to the incident. My goal is that these threads collectively will be a source of information for the SOF community and will be a place where BTDT and their families find very useful.

In closing I will be uncluttering the forums dealing with the incidents. I trust you will understand why some posts will have been deleted. I take moderating these threads very seriously and ask that you abide by these rules. If anyone has any ideas to make these threads better, plaese let me know.
