Hey everyone, Im a freshman in HS and i took a real competitive PRT yesterday at MIT in Cambridge,MA. There were about 120 kids competing, freshman through seniors in highschool. How are these scores compared to what i will need to obtain a billet to bud/s down the road.

110 pushups in 2 minutes - 1st Place
110 curl ups in 2 minutes - 1st Place
Mile and 1/2 Run - 10:32 - about 10th place

I really need to work on my running, I run everyday almost but im not getting faster at all and when i try to pick up the pace i find I picked it up too fast.
Any tips?

If you want to be a SEAL you need competitive PST scores, not just a good PRT.

bro, check out this article from Stew Smith. It's an interval running program that you should do twice per week. Specifically for guys who want to lower their run time, whether it be the 1.5 mile Navy run or the 3 mile Marine Corps run.

110 pushups and 110 situps is damn good for a HS freshman. You said something about a billet to BUD/S so I'm going to assume you want to be an Officer. Shoot for these PST scores, recommended by Stew Smith:

500 yd swim - sub 7:00
120-140 push-ups
100-120 sit-ups
25-35 pull-ups
8:00-8:30 1.5 mile run

A PRT is a physical readiness test, taken annually I believe by all members of the Navy. A PST is a physical standard test, it is given to Spec Ops candidates. Consists of a 500y swim, max push ups and sit ups in 2 min, max pull ups and a timed 1.5mi run. All this info is found under the "take the challenge" tab.

prt is bi annually, not that it really matters.
