I've been on the Navy website, and on this website, and it appears that one cannot try to become a SEAL after the age of 28. Is that correct?

I ask because I'm 32, and considering enlisting as I feel a sense of regret for not having done so at some point in my life. I've done well in business, and want to give something back. And of course, I'd want to try and serve as a SEAL at some point. Anyone have clarity on SEAL age requirements, or care to share thoughts if there is no hard and fast rule?

You can get a waiver, but I here tell you gotta score like an animal on the PST.

He's right. There are people who are able to get waivers but you need to prove that you're both serious and capable. I don't have all the answers, so I recommend you talk to a recruiter.

Appreciate the info guys. I'm going in to talk with a recruiter on Monday. I think I'm physically fit enough, the question is whether I develop other skills while I'm enlisted.

I would try a mock PST. Look at the competitive scores and if you can do well beyond those you should be ok for the physical part.

I work for the mentor in Michigan...and what ive seen in the last two years was a 31 y/o waiver, he didnt score crazy but he did do very well on the pst. There are three levels of scores for the pst, Minimum, elevated, and recommended, I believe he scored in between elevated and recommended. By the way he is a seal now, great guy.
