Damn!!!!
I wanted to do this one but I injured my back messing around at my house with my bro yesterday. I don't think it's serious, I think it's more of a muscle spasm. Sorry Coach that I didn't make it today, I woke up hoping that it would be better but it was killing me. Have a good one!

tozio,
If you search the crossfit video archives, there are some basic kipping pullup technique instructions. However, they do make the point that a kipping pullup isn't really taught, it's usually just a natural motion that occurs when trying to kick or swing to make a pullup easier (kind of looks like someone is cheating when trying to do a pull up). Don't focus on it or think about it too hard, that's when it becomes difficult to visualize or understand. Just think about how your body movement could make a pullup easier. It will feel very natural once you get it. Keep on it!

Yea, I think that is my problem I try to concentrate really hard on keeping my body moving...But I still got all hundred done just probably took me a little longer then everyone else. But I will keep working on it in my spare time.

Tozio, I find the kicking version of the kip is far more efficient than the swinging version of the kip. I also agree w/ Boredengineer, I just kinda started kicking and taught myself how to kip. You just kinda pick it up. When warming up I always do strict, usually 3 sets of 10-15. Anyway, check out this video of two of the CF HQ trainers, they both kick...

As for today's WOD, after doing the Fran/Helen combo (morning) and DL 5x5 RM (night) yesterday, I'm looking forward to a bodyweight-only WOD tomorrow morning. Running with Angie looks like a great challenge.

This one looked familiar but didn't see the this Rx'ed "Running with Angie" in my log...maybe I missed it one day.
t = 32:37
I was proud of my sit ups. Did 100 straight and it took me 2:36; Thinking in terms of the PST, at the 2:00 mark I was at 83 reps. I definitely would like to get competitive PST scores before I leave next year.
Good work fellas!

no motivation to run with Angie today, so I worked on my CFT lift form. Really worked on keeping my back arched on the BS and DL. I think I'll be getting some PR's next time we do the CFT. hoo-yah!

Well here I go saying that I'm swtiching up my program a little but it just so happens running with Angie fit what I needed perfectly today.
As rx'd: 27:32
I had to work at the pool right after so....perfect time to get a swim in.
Did 700yd INT swim, with the INTs being 100yd and add 10 secs rest between each. AVG INT time: 1:48
On another positive note....swam 50yds underwater today without pushing off the wall...now I just gotta do the jump and the flip.:)

For those who are looking for visual instruction on the exercises... I have been using YouTube. Just search Crossfit WOD and there are plenty of examples from Crossfit Gyms around the country. There are even videos from seminars that Annie and the Coach put on. Tactical Crossfit is even got a couple of videos.

Tried to do the full 100 pullups but after giving kipping a good effort, I thought I was gonna rip my god da*mn arms out of the sockets after about 35 of them, so I stopped at 50. Rest as Rx'ed. Time = 25:05. Decent time, but my last mile was 9:30. Awful.
~First time doing crossfit at a public gym.... boy did I feel like a real jackass doing pushups next to a huge line of treadmills.

Had to do this one this afternoon as my stomach is still messed up from something I ate Wed. Pushed through as RX'd:
29:32
Splits were approx:
100 pullups 5:30 (gassed myself doing first 38 in a row, then 12, then broken into sets of 10)
100 pushups 4:00 (learned from PUs so only did 25 first set, then I forget after)
100 situps 4:00 (powered straight through)
100 squats 2:30 (3 sets of 25, then 15, then 10)
I just woke up from the nap I took after this beating. Looking forward to the clean and jerk workout tomorrow!
