Man-portable nordenfelt gun of the soviet era. It apparently fired like a minigun and to be suitable for a soldier to handle, but ammo supply was limited being magazine fed.

The Pribor-3B still worked but was also quite hard to control due to the recoil force, Cartridge ejection is downwards BEHIND the magazine area as the weapon uses a gas/recoil operaton similar to that used in the AN94 Abakan assault rifle currently used by Russian special forces. The Pribor-3B would be more practical as a tripod mounted MG if its possible to make a belt feed device for it.

Why do you say it fired like a minigun? This weapon fired three barrels at once, while the six-barreled minigun only fires one of its rotating barrels at a time, and is driven by an electric motor.

I don't see how this could be made to operate as a belt-fed weapon, as it chambers three rounds simultaneously. Not practical at all, which is why those pictures depict a museum display (that's where it belongs).

Interesting thread, though. Thanks for sharing.

I was only exaggerating there but this weapon did have a high rate of fire by combining as it was basically 3 AK47s in one. It took the same 7.62x39 round but i reckon a smaller caliber/pistol round would be more suitable, not only for the ammo capacity but for the ease of recoil. The Pribor-3B may have fired simoultaniously/staggered but im still not sure how it operates.

I have been trying hard to find official sources everywhere but havent found any. I only found out so much from Max Popenker of worldguns.ru and thats about it. He claims its mechanisim formed the basis of the AN94 Abakan assault rifle.

If it wasn't junk, there would be at least a variation in service today. It looks to me like maintenance would be a nightmare----especially in the field.
