Could anyone tell me the model of fins that are used in Dive School? At this point I would like to add fins to my swimming workouts and it seems to me it would make sense to get used to the same fins used at Dive School.
Thanks in advance.

Jet fins will work and if you get jets you can bring them and use them at dive school.

Jet fins or rocket fins will work. Personally, the rocket fins worked much better for me than jets during dive school. It ends up being a personal preference b/w jets and rockets.

when you say jet fins do you mean the twin jets, ones with a split down the middle of the fin?

Jetfins made by ScubaPro, Rocket fins made by Aqualung.

Not the split fins. You'll use the scubapro jets. We did get issued some split fins once we got to the Underwater phase of EOD school, but I hate them and have stuck with my Scubapro Jets.

Splits are for sport divers. Although I was issued a pair at ST5. They were good for pace lines but swimming gear or turtlebacking they sucked.

damn, i love my twin jets been using them for about5 years now and havn't looked back. It just seams so much easier to get power from them and move around. oh well guess ill invest in some rocket fins and get used to them.

Don't get me wrong. Splits are good for lobstering or general diving but the kick is different. With rockets and jets its a full kick. Splits more of a bicycle type kick. With gear your gonna need the constant power. I always used super rockets/jeis. Longer and most power. I still have um somewheres in my fin museam.

I heard that if you use the same kick w/ split fins, you get the same power w/ less effort and can swim further than jet fins - is this false? Also, I want to dive some rec sites (eg Maracaibo Wall in Cozumel) where guys have been overpowered by the wicked currents ... I figure Jetfins might be better than my Twin Jets? Thoughts? Thanks in advance.
