Whats the deal with MCADS? Is this something that you have to serve a certain amount of time to make it to, or is it possible to be sent there after CQT?

I just know I want to be there one day, just wondering how it happens..

It is possible to get MCADS when you first get to your SWCC command. It is not the usual track. Your first duty will probably be with a MKV or regular RIB det. You will probably get qualified and go on one deployment before you get a chance for MCADS. It is not unusual for new guys to be sent to Basic Jump School right away depending on where their Det is in their work-ups. The choice of who to send comes from the Boat Team, not the detailer.

I would look for MCADS after my first tour if I am a hard charger or normally the second tour. The goal is to get everyone basic jump qualified during training at the SWCC Teams. Not everyone gets advanced jump qualification. If you are interested in this, let your command know when you get to the SWCC Teams.

Remember, only SBT-20 and SBT-12 do MCADS. You will not get an opportunity for MCADS at SBT-22.

hey man here is the real deal with MCADS. first off you can only get in the MCADS program at SB-20 in VA. and you can get lucky and be in a MCADS det for your first deployment. its alot of hard work but you can do it.
