I just got back from the Carlsbad Half Marathon! I didn't train for the Half Marathon and the only running I do is when it's in the WOD's so boy are my legs sore. I've never ran for more than 6 miles either so this was a great accomplishment. I ran all 13.1 miles in 1:48. It isn't sub 1:30 like rord stated but you got to remember that I am in no means a runner and my usual long distance pace is ~9:30 a mile. A huge thanks to Mr. Ord and everyone on here for the support. I would suggest to everyone on here to try a half marathon or marathon because it is an excellent physical and mental challenge. Now I'm off to watch the Chargers destroy the Pats. Hoo-yah!

Congrats man.
To be honest man I seriously can't imagine the tedium of a Marathon, and I definitely salute you.
Good job, that's an accomplishment.
How are your feet? Had a friend who said every time he ran a marathon he lost toenails from the sweat and rubbing.

Congrats again.

I live in San Diego, California. and my feet are pretty good considering I ran in indoor soccer shoes. A few blisters on the outsides of my feet but nothing too bad. If your friend was losing toenails he must be wearing too small of shoes.
And I retract my statement about the Chargers, damn Patriots with their undefeated season.

Congrats man! That's awesome that you conquered this by way of doing WODs and working hard. Just goes to show how well CrossFit translates.

Great job Neu-
Your time is awesome!! I gave you that 1 hour 30 minute objective to push you, and I have no doubt that if you ran it again, you would be able to hit that target, because you now know what to expect from a run that is longer than 6 miles.
I really admire your intensity and motivation, and would like to get you up to the US Tactical CrossFit Training Center this coming Friday at 2pm for some hard core Pre-SOF training. Send me an e-mail to let me know if you can make it. robert.ord@ustactical.com.
