3 rounds of: thrusters, pull-ups, run 1 mile
so the end result will be: 150 thrusters, 150 pull-ups, 3 miles

New to this type of workout, and this was my first WOD. I am posting a disappointing time of 57 minutes and 14 seconds. The hardest part was doing the run on the treadmill (it's a little cold in Indiana). Liked the workout, and can only get better from here.

oo man, this one was tough for me. i went to class came back took a nap, woke up and felt horrible. idk if it was thinking about the WOD or the bad yogurt i ate, lol. i came up with a laundry list of pus$yass excuses(hands + stomach hurt, tired, wa wa wa) not to do it but pushed through.
forgot my gloves again today, so pullups were tough, but i managed to get 20 each first set.
forced to sub a 3 mile bike for the 2nd run.
hit my watch 15 minutes in, so no exact time but ~1 hour
for some reason todays workout really made me want to get into this process of bud/s, i know ive got two years once im there and i just want to get it going!
btw, danodec, i was definitely getting some looks at the gym today...though they may have just been in fear for my safety...but i like to think they were just in awe. hooyah!

Haha, you f**kers thought you were gettin looks, I made a damn scene at my gym. Wait for it.
Still got kind of a bum leg so I subbed 1600m row for mile runs. Some good news about today: I worked on my kipping beforehand and figured out what I was doing wrong, so all my pull-up sets were 15-20 reps today (big improvement). The bad news: I busted another callus and this one hurt like a biatch.
Time: 42:11 but only 35 Pulls on the last set because of the callus. That sucker hurt so bad I felt like crying. So instead I lost my temper and unleashed a little flurry of swears and f bombs:) Ppl were staring (they had been anyway cause my kipping looks funny) and the trainer walked up to me and I got the whole spiel on how the ymca is a Christian organization and doesn't approve of such language....what a tool. Swearing has nothing to do with being a Christian...whatever, that was my scene.
Rord, you bring out the worst in me:D

The Y has always been a terrible place for heavy lifters or serious athletes because of all the safety rules. >:/

I know! Tell me about it! I hate working out at this Y but it's all I've got. My school gym SUCKS and since I work at the Y I get a free membership plus access to a pretty nice pool, so can't complain there. I really wish they had an area for power lifters.

I still suck at kipping pull ups. I'm figuring out though that if you kinda jerk your head at the top of the pull up like you're having a siezure, it makes things a little easier.

Knight, I was having problems too. The main problem I was having was with coming down after I finished the pull. I was using precious energy in my arms to lower myself in a controlled manner after each rep. I changed it so that as soon as I get to the top I just let my arms go and surprisingly when I got to the bottom my body was already starting to swing like it should for kips.

Did this workout today since I havent worked out all week. I spent the past week doing helo training in san diego. workouts didnt happen. ate crap all week underway, not to mention went drinking with some old buddies. and the travel back didnt help either. They tried turning the lights out on me in the gym on my last 400 m of the last run. 1 hr 2 min. my runs killed me, I felt like I was carrying an extra 25 lbs on my back. back at it tomorrow, still have 35 lb to drop by april

I plan on doing this workout today after the football games. Did not have time friday after working 13 hours... And I somewhat dislocated my knee the other day so no running for me for a little while. I leave for BMT April 22 so hopefully my knee is good by then. Just gotta say that I love these workouts and all you guys keep me going! WORK HARD!!!
